No data protection officer is required by law.

Principle

This website sets no cookies, embeds no external services and measures no usage behaviour. There are no analytics tools, no fonts from third-party servers, no social media plug-ins, no embedded maps or videos, and no data passed on for advertising.

Personal data arises only where it is technically unavoidable, and where someone writes to us.

Server log files

When this website is opened, the browser transmits technically necessary data, which the hosting provider stores in server log files:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of access
• name and URL of the file retrieved
• volume of data transferred and HTTP status code
• referrer URL
• browser type, browser version and operating system

Purpose, legal basis and retention

This data is processed solely for the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in technical operation and in defending against attacks.

It is not combined with other data, not used for profiling, and not evaluated for marketing. Log files are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Hosting

This website is hosted with DigitalOcean, LLC. The servers are located in Frankfurt am Main, so processing takes place within the European Union.

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

Contact by email

Anyone writing to us transmits at least their email address and the content of the message. We process this solely in order to answer the enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Enquiries are kept for as long as handling them requires and deleted afterwards, unless statutory retention periods apply.

Rights of data subjects

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20), as well as the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR).

An informal email to hi@5e-m.com is sufficient.

Right to complain

Independently of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The one competent for us is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA) in Ansbach.

Encryption

The website is served over HTTPS, which protects the transfer against being read by third parties.
